Academic Writing and Scholarships vocational training seminar organised by Perspective Student Club was held on December 16, 2022 at the Hasan Polatkan Conference Hall of Ziraat Bank Library.
Law Faculty members, Assist. Prof. Elif Irmak Büyük, Dr. Assist. Prof. Ahmet Emrah Geçer and Assist. Prof. Dilek Aydemir was the guest speakers at the conference. Academic writing, scholarships for post-graduation studies, opportunities to work abroad and the being an academic were discussed.
After the guests told their own journey after graduation, our students, who are interested in the educational environment and opportunities in different countries for their post-graduate education, asked their questions. Issues of Scholarships, universities that they can apply for, the advantages and disadvantages of post graduate studies in Turkey and abroad, the basic features of academic texts, and the steps that should taken to become an academic have been discussed.
About academic writing, our students were informed about the selection of the study topic, the research methods and the importance of the language used in the research, the technical infrastructures required for accessing the electronic databases through the libraries, the citation methods and the necessary resources for learning these methods.
The seminar empowered their career choice behaviors by creating an important educational environment and learning opportunity for our students who are interested in academic studies and will make career choices in this direction.
