Academics from the Faculty of Law at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), Indonesia, visited our faculty on January 21, 2025, under the leadership of Dean Prof. Dr. Iwan Satriawan. Following a presentation about our university, faculty and library, discussions were held on potential academic collaborations, including student and faculty exchange programs between the two faculties, opportunities for our students to participate in summer courses at UMY, joint international conferences, collaborative research projects, and co-publications.
After the meeting, Associate Professor Gunawan presented his paper titled "The Effectiveness of Informal International Law in Southeast Asia: Case of AATHP 2022", where he evaluated the effectiveness of non-legally binding rules that find application in international law through the lens of Southeast Asia. This was followed by Dr. Perwitiningsih's presentation on "Marital Agreement in Indonesia: Protecting Assets in Modern Marriages", which explored prenuptial agreements within the framework of Indonesian civil law and the protection of private property rights of the parties.
The event concluded with a Q&A session.
