MISHAK Students Went on a Journey of Law and Civilization in Konya

Istanbul Civilization University Islamic Law Studies Club (MİSHAK) offered its students a rich experience in both cultural and academic aspects with the Konya trip it organized on 26–27 April 2025. Within the scope of the program held in Konya, which stands out with its historical and cultural heritage, the participants visited important points of the city and participated in various events held on the axis of law and civilization.

As part of the program, prominent cultural and historical sites in Konya such as the Science Center, Dar-ül Mülk Exhibition Center, Taş Bina Digital Promotion Center, Alaaddin Mosque, Çatalhöyük, Panorama Museum and Mevlana Tomb were visited. During these visits, students had the opportunity to see the historical layers of the city on site and evaluate them from a civilization perspective.

One of the important events held during the trip was the academic talk on “Islamic Family Law” with Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yaman. In the talk, basic concepts of family law, current problems and solution suggestions were discussed. Topics such as arbitration mechanism, family balance and privacy were evaluated with their legal and moral dimensions. The program ended with Prof. Dr. Yaman sharing his books with the students.

The conferences organized in cooperation with the Turkish Imam Hatip Foundation (TİMAV) featured competent names in their fields such as Hüseyin Gökalp, Sami Bayrakçı and Raşit Akpınar. The presentations and discussions that began under the title of “Fuzzy Logic in Legal Thought” addressed issues of law, justice, social order and ethics in a multidimensional manner. Participants contributed to the interactive structure of the program with questions they posed to the speakers and book recommendations they made.

During the two-day program, students had the opportunity to meet the local cuisine of Konya and strengthen their academic ties in a different city. The program, reinforced with conversations in a friendly environment, was successfully completed as a productive event where academia and culture came together.
