19.03.2024

The 8th meeting of the Law Seminars organized by our Law School held at the meeting hall on 7th floor of Block C at North Campus, on March 19, 2024.

Res. Assist. Ayşe Nur Yayla, a member of the Tax Law Department, made a presentation titled  " Tax Interventions to Right to Property in terms of Legal Certainty "

During her presentation, Ms. Yayla discussed tax interventions on the right to property,  one of the fundamental rights and freedoms, in the context of ECtHR jurisprudence in terms of legal certainty. She stated that the legality, legal certainty and predictability of tax interventions are the basic criterias for ensuring legal security by the court, and that transparent institutions are important in this sense. On the other hand, she emphasized that the tax intervention should be proportionate as well as being in the public interest in order not to constitute a violation.

The seminar ended after the Q&A session.
