The event titled "Aşiyan Museum and Perili Köşk," held on March 19, 2023, was organized by the Social Events Committee of the Law Workshop Club. The event was conducted with a group of 10 participants. Initially, the group visited the Aşiyan Museum, which was originally the residence of Tevfik Fikret between 1906 and 1915 and is now open to the public as a museum. The museum, deeply integrated with nature, offers its visitors a breathtaking view of the Bosphorus, providing a stunning visual experience.
Participants were informed about the exhibited items and paintings, engaging in discussions regarding the art history of the period and Tevfik Fikret's artistic identity. As one of the significant pieces of our cultural heritage, the Aşiyan Museum was once used as a residence, making it a notable example of sustainable architecture. Following this, participants exchanged ideas on how sustainable cities could be designed, emphasizing the importance of multi-purpose use of buildings or objects for a sustainable future. The museum's natural surroundings and abundant green spaces also drew the attention of the participants.
The visit continued with Perili Köşk, an architectural marvel that captivates visitors with its unique design. As one of Istanbul's most significant cultural heritage sites, Perili Köşk primarily showcases modern art and is seen as a source of inspiration for its visitors. At the conclusion of the event, participants shared their thoughts on the historical significance of the sites visited, shedding light on the hidden beauties of the past, and discussed their personal reflections on the artworks.
