Research Units

Our Faculty has research units working on different areas of law established by Medeniyet University Center for Civilization Studies (“ISMAM”). 

Medical Law Research Unit

“Medical Law Research Unit” - which is the first institution of its kind in Turkey – was founded in 2014 to pioneer studies and research on medical law. This unit carries out national and international scientific studies as well as activities and projects related with medical law. This unit not only promotes researchers in this area but also solves problems related with medical law in healthcare organizations. Medical Law Research Unit thus aims to promote medical law in Turkey.

Comparative Private Law Studies Unit

“Comparative Private Law Studies Unit” was founded in 2014 to promote research in a various areas of private law including the law of obligations, law of old foundations, family law, children’s law, inheritance law, property law, intellectual property law, international sale of goods, consumer law, commercial law, maritime trade law, law of negotiable instruments, insurance law, WTO law, and environmental law. This unit aims to develop and enhance research in the above-mentioned fields by closely following new trends in private law.

Maritime Law Research Unit

Istanbul Center for Civilization Studies (“ISMAM”), Maritime Law Research Unit(“DETHAB”) is established on 03 May 2018. The aims of Maritime Law Research Unit are to make researches and studies on maritime law, to organize national and international panels, seminars, conferences and congresses, to encourage scientific research, to provide training courses in this field, to have a common data bank, to have collaboration and work together with national and international universities, maritime institutions and organizations and eventually to carry out all kinds of activities that will increase the effectiveness of Turkish Maritime Law in the international arena and to determine methods that will make scientific studies effective by bringing together academicians and students working in this field with various tasks.

Insurance Law Research Unit

Istanbul Center for Civilization Studies (“ISMAM”), Insurance Law Research Unit (“SIGHAB”) is established on 03 May 2018. Insurance Law Research Unit aims to conduct research in insurance law, to organize national and international panels, seminars, conferences and congresses, to encourage scientific research, to provide training courses in various insurance branches, to have collaboration and work together with national and international universities, institutes, associations, institutions.
